Affordable and routine access to space through scramjet
In a development of significance, in April end this year, a commercial passenger space-liner designed to carry space tourists routinely into orbit made its maiden rocket powered test flight, attaining supersonic speed.
As it is, for the first time ever, the Space Ship Two of Virgin Galactic engaged its rocket motor and sped to Mach 1.2 velocity and reached 56,000-ft in altitude.
This flight powered by supersonic combustion is the latest milestone in Virgin Galactic’s long standing dream of turning space into another frontier of tourism.
